So today we had a minor milestone. As I was picking up Brennan from the sitter today, without provocation of any kind (this is the milestone) Brennan said clear as day "bye bye" with a wave of his hand. Then he blew a kiss. We were amazed!!! I can't believe how fast our little man is growing up. I am starting to plan his 1st birthday. I don't know if I am ready to be out of the baby baby phase yet. Though I do love when I can really play them.

In other news, Amelia received a baby chipmunk for Christmas from her Uncle Patrick. She has enjoyed taking care of it like it is a little baby. The thing that would make Uncle Patrick really proud though is she has named it...drum roll please ...Chip. How fitting I thought, but only us Muse kids would probably get why that is fun.

So last Sunday we went to the Gator's National Championship celebration. It was so much fun to take the kids. This was Brennan's first trip to Gainesville. Amelia was so excited to see the Gators on the field. I swear she has the Gator fight song memorized and some of the cheers. Of course her Daddy and I had nothing to do with this at all :) We were able to get a small box on the alumni side and corral the kiddos. My family met up with us in the stadium and made it just in time to hear Tebow announce his return next year. What fun to have the kids and family all there in that crazy stadium. We finished our day with some shopping and a visit to my favorite deli (McAlister's) with the BEST chicken salad. They really need to put one of these in Orlando. Here are a few pics. We put some more in the photo gallery.

Last night we turned off the TV and played some music instead. Amelia and David were dancing so Brennan showed off his ever improving dance moves. It doesn't take much to get him going. I put the videos of the dancing duo on the video page.

Lastly, I took the kids to the park this morning with a group of friends from church. Brennan was not sure
about the cold weather. He just stood in place for the longest time trying to figure it out. Which nowadays is no small thing. He is running everywhere! Amelia was another story. She was off and climbing the rock wall and going down the slides. We missed church last Sunday so she was also excited to see her friends. She did not want to leave, but alas we had other things to do so we could pack for Bradley's birthday party tomorrow. Amelia is really looking forward to seeing "her Bradley."

Well, things have been busy around here. I have been running on little sleep after staying up to watch the Gators play for the National Championship. It was well worth it though. We had a little party at our house and I let Amelia stay up for the first half. It was so cute listening to her as I was explaining the game. This is a sample of our conversation:

A: "Where are the Gators Mommy?"
D: "They are wearing white Amelia."
(Then the gators made a good defensive stand and intercepted the ball...I was elated and was saying "get it, get it, yes!"
A: "Why mommy?"
D:"Cause it is a tie game Amelia and the gators aren't winning"
A: " Why not mommy?"
D: "I don't know Amelia."
A: Why are they not winning mommy? Why?
(The earnest in her voice was just precious here.)

Now I am sure some of that earnestness was due to the fact that it was after 9:00 p.m. But it was so cute to hear that worry in her voice that the Gators might not win. She was very excited the next morning when I told her the Gators had won. Then she stole my heart when she asked why the Gators weren't on the T.V. The whole family wore their Gator gear to school/work on Thursday and Friday. Now we just have to get that championship gear.

Thanks for all the text messages as well! I loved celebrating with all of our friends right after the game. The messages and phone calls were the second best thing to watching the game with all of you. We love and miss you guys!

So school has started back up for both Amelia and I. She was quite excited to get back to school. She missed her friends and teacher. It made me happy that she really does love going. As you probably know now, Brennan is off and running. He follows Amelia around everywhere. He completely adores her. So, since he is doing everything else early; Amelia decided to put him through his first tackling drills. Really he decided he loved his sister so much that he needed to chase her down and then jump on top of her. Amelia further continued these drills by laying on the floor and calling "buddy" (her nickname for Brennan when she isn't saying his name or "brother"). Brennan proceeded to jump on top of her and then they both giggled uncontrollably. It was so much fun watching them just play together. Now hopefully these early tackling drills will pay off.

Today we went to Target to buy new white shoes for Amelia (her old dress up ones were too small) and some organizing gear for the bedrooms. The dollar bins have some cute princess stuff that we bought to add to her dress up up box. We came home and got to work sorting through toys, stuffed animals, etc. We categorized everything and now everything has a place. When I walked Amelia through her room to show her the finished product she just said "That is cool Mom!" She likes her room being neat. When I asked her if she liked her room and how it was set up she just responded, "It is perfect." That made all our work worthwhile. I have really enjoyed having this time off from work to spend time with the kids and the house. I have been trying to take the kids walking every night after dinner. Amelia loves being outside and Brennan just likes being in the wagon with Amelia. I might have to look into one of those jogging strollers so I can take the kids running with me instead. I just have to keep the habit up once works starts up again.

So, I have determined that Brennan is going to be my mischievous child who is always getting into everything. Pretty much anything I tell him not to touch or do is exactly what he wants to do from that moment on till who knows when. He is in love with our remotes. I think he waits for them to be within in his reach because as soon as I sit them down on the couch even close to his reach he is off. He has mastered this whole walking thing so it is a race to who can get to the remotes first. The same with the dog food. I have to keep it up out of his reach because he thinks this is some newly developed snack for babies and dogs. If I forget and leave it down, it is off to the races again. I just know he is plotting how he can move the kitchen chairs (which he already does) and climb up on them just so he can get to everything. I love that he is always smiling though. It makes the hundreds of times that I am going to have to watch where I put things well worth it.

Happy New Year!
Last night we rang in the new year with some friends of ours. There were several little ones running about and Amelia found a friend about her age to play with. They played so nicely that the adults got to have some fun playing Rock Band. We had a blast releasing our inner rock star. Madeline and Amelia joined in the fun at the end and sang a few songs for us as well. You can see a video of the girls performing on the video page. The night concluded with a huge fireworks show put on by the neighbors. The girls loved it. This was the first year that Amelia stayed up to see the clock strike 12. Brennan was up as well thanks to the fireworks. Amelia was quite impressed by the fireworks so she could care less about the ball dropping in Times Square. She did pretty good staying up so late. She hardly fought at all and shared most of the night, which "not sharing" is nothing new and still a skill we are working on. We live about 10 minutes from where the party was and she was snoring in her car seat before we even pulled in the driveway. Here are a few pics from our evening. The larger ones are in the photo gallery. Now it is on to full fledged college football bowl season. January 8th can't come soon enough. Go Gators!
