Today Brennan is 11 months old. Wow how time flies. To celebrate he came down with his first ear infection yesterday along with his fifth tooth. It has been so long since he cut a tooth, that this was hard. Add to that him just feeling completely miserable and having no balance and he was just a cranky little man. I felt so bad for him. All better today though. The doctor said we caught it so early that he should feel better even after one dose of the antibiotic. She was right! The fever broke right away and he was able to sleep. Yay! I am so much more patient when I have had sleep and my cold relapse left almost the instant that I got sleep. Needless to say we are all feeling much better.

I added some new pics to the photos page for January and February. You will see a bunch of Amelia playing the drums and instruments at the new music room at Best Buy. This is her new favorite past time. She loves this more than the bounce house! We won't be buying her a drum set anytime soon but maybe a mini guitar to play with Daddy. We will see. I will leave you with a quote from Amelia today after I wrapped her in her Gator bath towel. She never fails to put a smile on my face.

"Mom, I'm a Gator Princess, Rooaarr!"

Brennan absolutely loves Cheerios! When I say love I should write it in capital letters and and bold face it and underline it as many times as this program would allow. I have been trying new foods with him and he just simply shakes his head to say no. He is still hungry though, because he will eat Cheerios even after denying the other food. I keep pursuing knowing that one day he will eat new stuff. But until then to keep Brennan full all I have to do is fill a bowl with Cheerios and he is content. It is so funny because as soon as he hears me putting Cheerios in a bowl, he follows me around like a puppy dog just waiting to pounce on that bowl. He will sit at the bowl and not budge until it is empty. It does not matter how full it is. I have to be quite careful that I don't give him too much so that he will still drink his milk.

So yesterday was Valentine's Day. We celebrated with some of our dearest friends, the Markhams and Bryans. Yeah we know it is supposed to be about love and all, but we love our friends and just absolutely love getting to spend time with them. We were so glad they all came over for a visit. Amelia was especially excited to see Bradley and just play play play. I got some really cute pics of Brennan and Caleb together as well. I will be sure to post those soon. Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's day. Oh, and Happy Birthday Patrick! You were not forgotten.

Amelia used to be a good eater. Now for her to want to eat something it has to be her idea. It doesn't matter that she likes EVERYTHING! The biggest trial has been trying to get to eat protein. Every night I make sure she has something with some protein in it. Even if it is just a glass of milk. So we had pancakes the other night and I was ready to give her a glass of milk and some eggs to work that protein in there. Out of the blue, she requested bacon. I have offered her my bacon before, but she had never accepted. Luckily I had some on hand so I cooked it up and she downed four pieces. I think she would have eaten the whole plate if I didn't save some for David. I didn't know she liked bacon. Must of been an acquired taste on those morning breakfast dates with Daddy at Crackerbarrel.

Now Brennan has finally let his evil genius come through. Since he has been walking, when we are in our family room I put up the baby gate to keep him in the the family room as well. This weekend he broke out twice! I don't know how that happened. We know he is strong. He likes to push Amelia around in our dining room chairs. Yes she is sitting in the chair and he is pushing. They both love it. I guess that is the beauty of having a sister on the petit side. So our little hercules was is a problem solver as well. I saw those wheels spinning again today. David was giving Amelia a bath and usually Brennan waits in the bathroom with us until it is his turn. Instead I tried to keep him with me and entertain him. That was not his idea at all. He walked straight to the bathroom and started putting his hand under the door and grabbing it to open it. When that didn't work, he laid down on the ground and looked under the door and started babbling under the door to David and Amelia. He really wanted in. When that didn't work he started getting really upset but kept running his hand on the crevice of the door just hoping it would open. Every now and then he would look under the door again and babble. This went on for about five minutes and then he just got frustrated. So I tried to entertain him again. He was happy to see Daddy coming to get him for bath.

Amelia has made great progress with her writing. Before today she would always write her letters all over the page unless we had her trace something. Today she was writing everyone's name and writing small enough so that it was all on one line. Of course she still mixes up her capital and lower case letters, but the fact that they are small and on a line is a major step for her. She is growing and growing. We have signed her up for VPK for the Fall. She got to preview VPK the other day when her teacher was sick. She was so thrilled to be there in that class. She is so ready to learn learn learn. I dread the day I have to take her to Kindergarten. I just want to put her in a bubble and keep her this age forever. We can add Brennan to the bubble after he is potty trained.
