Easter weekend was so much fun! This was Brennan's first Easter. We started out by going to the Eichler's house. They have started hosting an annual Easter Egg hunt for the kiddos. It was so much fun just to get together with our friends and enjoy the day. Amelia had a blast running after the eggs and then playing dress up with the girls. She doesn't have many "girly girls" to play with once we are at home. I have worn many a tiara on days we are not kicking the soccer ball. As much as I love playing with her, she really does have more fun when she is with girls her age. Brennan was in a mood. He did not like walking and wanted to be held. Oh well, maybe next Easter.

Easter morning was priceless. Amelia woke up on her own and walked right to our room. She told me that the Easter Bunny did not come and was quite disappointed. Mind you to get our room she walked down a hallway lined with eggs and the two Easter baskets were full and on the counter. I had to tell her to look high and low. Once she found the baskets she was so excited! Now the Easter bunny is the "sneaky Easter Bunny." We finished our day with coloring eggs and some grilling for dinner. It was a nice, relaxing, fun, Easter day.

We just got back from a little weekend getaway. We traveled down to Homosassa Springs State park for a night. We found a really neat park on the way so we let the kids run around a bit before heading to the State Park. The State Park was really neat. It was a mini zoo of sorts. The weather was beautiful and the animals were all out and active. Amelia was so excited to see the manatees. She was able to see them in the under water viewing and up close. It was so neat! I would highly recommend a day trip there if you have never been before. We enjoyed it so much! From there we went to the river and stayed at a hotel on the water. Did you know there is a monkey island? Our hotel had a restaurant right on the water that overlooked the island. Amelia and Brennan (and us) were able to watch the monkies play while we ate dinner and breakfast. It was very relaxing just getting away from our house and spending time as a family. After our night at the hotel we made our way back to Orlando. We stopped off at Weekie Wachee Springs State Park on the way. Amelia was excited to see the mermaids. It was an enjoyable experience, but I would not recommend it to anyone. It was a "packed" place with maybe 100 people there. We had a hard time getting on the boat tour but were finally successful before ther trip was done. Amelia wasn't as impressed with the mermaids either. She didn't understand why the mermaids had to stay in the water and were not on stage. All in all we had a good time. Now it is back to the grind. Brennan starts preschool with Amelia tomorrow. Amelia is excited about showing him the ropes. We are hoping for an easy transition. See pics from our trips in the photo gallery. There are some fun ones.

Today Amelia and David were laying in our bed. Amelia was requesting to sleep in our bed. David was joking with her and said, "You want to kick Mommy out of our bed?". Amelia responded, "I can't kick Mommy!" So much for expressions.
